About the show
"Artist, Auteur: Spike at 20," an exhibition of movie posters organized by Separate Cinema Archive will be presented at the Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center, March 18- April 20, 2008 with an opening Reception Thursday, April 3, from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm. This exhibit is in conjunction with the Africana Studies Program, the Film Department, and the Office of the Dean of the Faculty. It forms a graphic retrospective of the works of director Spike Lee and chronicles the twenty-year journey of America's most prominent African-American director. From his feature length film debut, "She's Gotta Have It" (1986) through his profound television documentary, "When the Levees Broke" (2006), Spike Lee's provocative insight into social and political issues continues to redefine filmmaking.
